GREEN PROJECT IN PROGRESS

La Paz - Green project with high environmental value

The La Paz project, promoted and structured with the coordination of eCO2masy, was created to extend the Pacha Prometida model on an even broader scale, within an initiative dedicated to forest protection, reforestation, environmental sustainability and the generation of voluntary carbon credits.

The initiative aims to protect approximately 63,000 hectares of Amazon rainforest, including approximately 2,500 hectares of reforestation with native species, with a projected estimate of approximately 8.5 million certified voluntary carbon credits – Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) – over a period of 20 years, according to the applicable standards and the planned technical validation and verification process.

Currently under development, the project is designed to generate documentable environmental and social benefits, supporting ecosystem conservation and the direct involvement of local communities.

La Paz - value figures

The “La Paz” project is a large-scale environmental sustainability initiative launched in the municipalities of San Buenaventura and Ixiamas, in the province of Iturralde, department of La Paz, Bolivia.

This REDD+ project, with an ARR component — Afforestation, Reforestation & Revegetation — extends over a total area of approximately 63,232 hectares of tropical forest: an area equal to about 10 times the surface area of the Republic of San Marino, or more than 2.4 million tennis courts.

Approximately 2,500 hectares are allocated to reforestation activities, using tree species suitable for the local context and with a natural capacity for CO₂ absorption, including Açai, Chiquitano Almond, Teak, Balsa and Paulownia.

The project contributes to forest protection, reforestation and the involvement of local communities, within a pathway oriented towards environmental sustainability, voluntary carbon credits and ESG reporting.

Local communities at the centre of the project

The project involves five local communities — San Pedro, Gran Dapapuri, Carmen Pecha, Macahua 1 and Macahua 2 — distributed over an area of 63,232 hectares.

The participation of local communities is a central element of the La Paz project. The project activities and the redistribution model connected to certified voluntary carbon credits – Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) – are oriented towards generating concrete benefits for the communities involved.

The benefits may include:

  • basic infrastructure and services;

  • protection of the territory and forest conservation;

  • local economic activities;

  • sustainable development initiatives;

  • access to medical care;

  • education and training.
