Pacha Prometida - Bolivia

Green environmental sustainability project for the Amazon rainforest

Pacha Prometida - Bolivia

Pacha Prometida – Bolivia was the first Green environmental sustainability project in which the eCO2masy team participated, marking the beginning of a concrete path for the protection of the green lung of the planet.

With the protection of 11,500 hectares of Amazon rainforest and an estimated generation of over 5 million voluntary certified Carbon Credits – Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) over a period of 30 years, the project makes a significant contribution to the reduction of CO₂ emissions and to the conservation of unique natural ecosystems.

Key data of the Pacha Prometida Green project

  • Organisation: Verra, a non-profit entity that develops and manages environmental standards

  • Standards: VCS and CCB

  • Project type: REDD+
    REDD+: Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation

  • Protected area: 11,500 hectares

  • Estimated Carbon Credits: over 5,000,000 VCUs

  • Duration: 30 years

Environmental and social impact

The Pacha Prometida project represents a virtuous model of balance between environmental protection and social development.
It has enabled the active conservation of the Amazon rainforest, helping to prevent deforestation and fostering the growth of natural ecosystems.
At the same time, it contributes to improving the living conditions of local populations through the redistribution of revenues deriving from certified carbon credits – Verified Carbon Units (VCUs).

50% of the revenues obtained from the credits is allocated directly to the communities involved to:

  • improve infrastructure,

  • strengthen education,

  • support access to medical care,

  • support sustainable development projects.

Through this approach, Pacha Prometida shows how the conservation of the Amazon rainforest can help generate lasting benefits for the planet and for the people who live there.

Expertise and method

Over time, eCO2masy and the project teams have developed deep experience in managing and preparing the technical and procedural documentation required by the applicable international standards.

This path has made it possible to build a solid operational and documentation model, which today represents a concrete foundation for developing new environmental sustainability projects according to international standards of quality and transparency.

The first concrete example of this approach is the Pacha Prometida project (Verra ID 4387), a forest protection initiative developed according to Verra VCS and CCB standards in collaboration with Samay Ltda., a Bolivian partner company registered as Project Proponent.

The structure of the operational roles and the relationship between eCO2masy and Samay Ltda. are explained in greater detail on the Transparency and Standards page.

eCO2masy collaborated on the project through the direct contribution of its founders and technicians, who were involved in the operational phases and in the promotion of the carbon credits.

Pacha Prometida: experience, method and development

Thanks to this experience, eCO2masy has consolidated operational, documentation and relationship-based skills that today represent a concrete foundation to:

  • ridurre i tempi di strutturazione e gestione documentale dei nuovi progetti;

  • reduce the time required for the structuring and documentation management of new projects;

  • strengthen the relationship with the local communities involved in the projects;

  • develop Green Ex Novo projects, namely customised projects for companies and institutions, capable of combining speed, transparency and management solidity.

The experience gained has made it possible to launch and coordinate new challenges such as the new La Paz Green project, developed according to international sustainability standards including Verra VCS and CCB.

An experience that makes it possible to transform each initiative into a replicable, reliable ESG model oriented towards the future.

eCO2masy carbon credits can be a useful tool to integrate CO₂ offsetting pathways into the Sustainability Report and strengthen ESG reporting transparency.
